WSMS Thanksgiving Food Drive

Issy Mirfin

Every year, Willow Springs hosts a Thanksgiving food drive and donates the food to Allen Community Outreach (ACO), to give food to families who don’t have enough for a Thanksgiving meal. Beyond food, the district is also requested Kroger and Walmart gift cards of any amount above $20.

The food drive is really good for the community because it’s a chance to give back to people who have less than us. Giving back makes us a stronger community and more unified as a whole. It is also helps the school come together because it’s a huge responsibility for the teachers and the students to reach our target goal and give people enough to eat.

The food drive is a really good thing, and we should continue to do this every year. Beyond it being an opportunity for service hours or just donating a can, it really does help other people.
