Band Winter Concert Tonight, December 3

Emily James

Tonight, the Willow Springs Middle School Band and will be hosting their Winter Concert. With many different pieces that the students have been working diligently on, they will have a chance to show off their hard work! The concert will be divided into two sections, consisting of the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band performances. The Willow Springs Band will be performing at 6:30 in the Lovejoy Highschool Auditorium, and if you are interested in supporting the SCIS/LHS Band, the times will be listed below.

The concert is a part of the Fine Arts Festival program, which will be held throughout the rest of the week/weekend. The WSMS Band will be performing the pieces: Two Australian Carols, Rock The Halls, Secret Agent Sugar Plum, Still, Still, Still, Barber of Seville, and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. Students have been working for months on perfecting their performance, and hope to evoke a sense of winter spirit through these classic pieces.

While students are very excited for the concert, anxiety also fills the air, as this performance is one of the most important of the year.

“I’m kinda afraid,” says Kavya Palani, 7. “But I do feel sorta confident in my playing”,

While you’re at the band concert this evening, be sure to check out other exhibits hosted at the fine arts festival!
