Every November 11, people across the country come together to recognize the sacrifice veterans make 24/7. Veterans Day is on November 11, to celebrate the ending of World War I in 1918.

“My grandpa was an engineer on fighter planes,” said Mrs. Chasteen, History Teacher.

We have Veterans Day to honor those who died for our country in order to protect the rights of United States citizens.

In order to ensure proper and widespread observance of this anniversary, all veterans, all veteran’s organizations, and the entire citizenry will wish to join hands in the common purpose,” said Former President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Even though we celebrate Veterans Day every year, not many people realize the true effect of this holiday. We have to celebrate our veterans because without them, we wouldn’t have a lot of the freedoms that we do.

“I think it is a good way to show respect for all the veterans who served out country,” said Talia Orshalick, 7.
