Spotify and Apple Music are neck-and-neck for being the top music app.

“Since I have Spotify premium, I like how there are no ads and how it creates playlists for you,” said Reese Wallace, 7.

In 2006, the popular music app, Spotify, was released. With over 248 million active users, Spotify comes in number one for the leading music app. For $9.99 per month, you can get Spotify Premium. This comes with ad-free services, podcasts, unlimited skips, and music recommendations from Spotify.

“I’ve been using Apple Music for three years now and love it. My family and I like music and decided to go with Apple,” said Avery Smith, 7.

On the other hand, Apple music is free to download, but there are in-app purchases. Unless you have a subscription, songs can cost $0.99 or more. Getting their subscription allows you to listen to radio stations, have unlimited skips, and listen to the entire Apple Music catalog.

“I switched from Apple Music to Spotify because it was trending and everyone was using it,” said Camryn Jones, 7.

Thanks to the two music apps, we can listen to the music we want.
