Turkey Trot

Americans across the country have been taking part in the annual Turkey Trot for over a century, raising money for different charities through donating and racing.

Willow Springs held its very own Turkey Trot  on Nov. 20. All students participated in the run. The top five male and female competitors of each grade level were congratulated after their run.

Willow Springs will also be raising funds for the City of Dallas Emergency Fund with all proceeds benefiting the victims of the tornado that had torn through part of north Dallas on Oct.20, 2019. Willow Springs had its students donate different foods for the victims who are unable to have Thanksgiving at home. Students are also able to directly donate money to the fund through their advisory class.

In 2017, there were more than 1 million finishers at over 1,000 turkey trot events,” said Rich Harshbarger Ceo of Running Usa.

Willow Springs is making an immense difference in the community and hope to aid the victims who are trying to overcome the hardship they have been faced with.
