Willow Springs spelling bee auditions held on October 21 recognizes students in our school that specialize in spelling and allow them to compete.

“I thought it would be a challenge to tryout, and I ended up making the team,” said James Brunson, 8.

The Spelling Bee competition will be held on the 14th of November in the WSMS cafeteria.

“The teachers give us a lot of time to prepare and study our words before the actual competition, so we can do well,” said

Several students from each grade compete, but only one student can claim victory.

“I was an alternate for the spelling bee last year, and I didn’t think it was ever going to end. They [the other competitors] kept on spelling the words right,” said Luke Wincheser, 8.

The winner of the school bee will get the chance to go on to districts, regionals, state, and possibly even national competitions.
