With storms hitting the Texas coastline, Lovejoy High School football scheduled for Friday night against Denton High and tennis games against Seven Lakes and a Cross Country meet Saturday in Plano had players, runners and officials Friday afternoon waiting to see if the weather will hinder their sport, however the rains did not affect playtime too much for the Leopards.

It was business as usual for Leopard sports through Wednesday.

Anthony Morgello, a seventh grade lineman said he  had hoped to still play and was happy about the weather bypassing athletics at WSMS even though high winds and rain were expected to receive accumulations.

“I  would rather get to practice early next week than not practice,” Morgello said.

Other  colleges who were in the path of Hurricane Harvey are also evacuating and canceling some of their courses. Some of these colleges include LSU, Texas State University, Houston University and Texas A&M Galveston and College Station.  Classes at many of these schools were cancelled as many students evacuated.
